Register a Birth

As part of the Department of Human Services, the Bureau of Births, Deaths & Marriages creates records for all births that occur in the State of Rosebud. The details from the birth registration record are then used to produce a State of Rosebud Birth Certificate. Parents are required to register the birth of their newborn within 90 days.

Why you should register a birth

By registering a birth your child is officially recognized by the State of Rosebud, giving them the same rights as all other residents of the state. If you do not register your child, it may be impossible for them to access public services such as Medibud or WorkAssist.

Register within 90 days

Under the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act 1985, parents are required to register their child within 90 days of birth.

The Bureau of Births, Deaths & Marriages keeps a permanent record of the registration so residents can obtain a Birth Certificate of themselves or their children at any time. The information is kept strictly confidential and may anonymously be used for community planning purposes or important medical research. Only parents, their children, or legal guardians are able to purchase a copy of the Birth Certificate.

Delivery

Registering a birth creates a new entry in the Rosebud Births' Database. You will receive a confirmation email as soon as the database is successfully updated. This email serves as proof of such an update.

The printed Birth Certificate document is delivered to you by mail. You have a choice of several shipping options, depending on where you want the certificate shipped. Delivery fees start from $0.90. Registered users can also download a PDF version of the Birth Certificate, so they have a digital copy for their records.
